Give your Respose

just a little . . .

When I was first made aware of the depth of truth contained in the history of Adam & Eve, it forever changed the concepts I had been taught and hear about sin. What is sin? Commonly it is defined as the breaking of the law. 1 John 3:4 - Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law There are other meanings, However there is another VERY IMPORTANT definition that often goes unmentioned. It deals with each of us where we are and the convictions we have and that is James 4:17 - Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

There is MUCH good we have been exposed to in our life that we will not find word for word written in the bible. For instance, Jesus ate fish, so many today use this as reason to continue doing so in spite of the fact that modern science and health professionals have for the past 10 plus years warned us of the dangers of meat eating. Today it so clearly understandable that meat eating is flat out dangerous, that to continue doing so, is putting your own well being at unnecessary risk.

I bring all this up to ask a question. Just how much sin does it take to be lost. Or more to the point, how much sin can I enjoy and still get saved? The key to understanding the answer to this question can be found in the events of Adam & Eve. Do you realize that the fruit they had was PERFECTLY normal! There was NO SIN in that fruit!!! Please let that sink in . . . If there was no sin in that fruit, if that fruit was as healthy as ANY other piece in the WHOLE ENTIRE garden, why has so much hurt and pain resulted from them eating it!

Because God told them, plainly and explicitly not to!Now consider this, if all this misery we now endure was the result of simply eating that which was inherently good, how can we EVER expect any good to come of eating that which is inherently BAD!!! Yes, this includes but is not limited to cheese, chocolate, ice cream, candy etc, etc, etc . . . I bring this up because we have to come to God's realization of sin and that is IT'S ALL BAD! What made Adam & Eve's decision sin wasn't the fruit, but that God said DON'T eat it! The fruit itself was not unhealthy! However, much of what we want to do today, whether its eating, watching, wearing or partaking is, INHERENTLY wrong . . . and it's wrong because we KNOW better and to know better (good), and not do it, IS A SIN!

Eating a piece of fruit caused this misery of a life. God's not taking back to eternity ANY of its reminders . . .no matter how little. 2 Peter 3:14 - Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.Ephesians 5:27 - That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
