The mysteries of life

Jason
February 13, 2006

Often our plans fail that God's plans for us may succeed. We are never called upon to make a real sacrifice for God. Many things He asks us to yield to Him, but in doing this we are but giving up that which hinders us in the heavenward way. Even when called upon to surrender those things which in themselves are good, we may be sure that God is thus working out for us some higher good.

In the future life the mysteries that here have annoyed and disappointed us will be made plain. We shall see that our seemingly unanswered prayers and disappointed hopes have been among our greatest blessings. The Ministry of Healing, chapter: Help in Daily Living

How do you feel when you read this? What are your thoughts?I'm going to share something with you that most people are afraid to because its not "pleasant truth"; but its truth none the less and that is your walk with Jesus doesn't really begin, until the loving God allows the unlovable to befall you!

I say that because until you're placed in a situation, that forces you to decide to believe that God really does love you even though he's allowing you to bear that which is unlovable, you won't know what real loving faith truly is.

Re-read the statement above again and again. I guarantee, before this world is over, if you remain with the truth, you'll understand what those mysteries speak of! The strength needed and discipline exerted, to daily trust the word of God, will not leave you with energy for "playing" worship. Its so easy to be positive and celebrate when Satan hasn't moved God to destroy you. (see Job 2:3). When you labor with tears at the throne of God for request that are to the VERY BEST of your understanding good and just, only to be told "NO", will you then be able to dance, sign and shout? When you have to CONSTANTLY watch those who make little if any effort in the walk of faith enjoy the "gifts and benefits" which you yourself have pleaded, will God's praises still be on your lips?

You really may not get this now and its ok. I'm not even sharing this because I "understand" but rather because I've experienced and am experiencing. Its a real walk my young brothers and sisters. I'm just plainly putting it out there that regardless of the sugar coating and positive spinning, the walk is not without mystery. Mystery implies the truth, that there will be events unfolding in your life that make absolutely NO sense at all, whatsoever! Neither will they make any sense until God chooses to reveal his reasons to you in glory.

Until then, may all you do now, help you endure when your time comes . . . and if you are traveling the narrow way, your time will come!
