Independence Day

Vicki
June 30, 2005

Hey Guys,Today is our last workday before the Independence Day holiday here at Insight. I love long weekends :).Do you have any big plans, or are you just going to hang out at home? My husband and I are going to a family reunion in the south. In fact, we're heading out this afternoon. We're both looking forward to spending time with a lot of people from all over the country--should be a fun time! We're going to enjoy picnics, a water park, games, fireworks of course, and just hanging out with family. All that will be fun, but the real purpose of this holiday weekend is to celebrate our country's independence--our freedom--that has, over the years, been purchased at a very high price. It's true that freedom is never free.A lot of people will try to tell you that there is no freedom in Christianity, but that's just not true. A relationship with Christ is the only place where true freedom can be found. This weekend, remember those that are fighting for freedom around the world, and the ultimate fight that Jesus won to purchase our freedom from sin.And enjoy your weekend! Celebrate freedom--both for our country, and our hearts.
