Operation Global Rain Part 2

Michelle
June 7, 2007

Here's what Martha e-mailed me so that we would understand what the Latter Rain is. Thanks, Martha!/p/ “Acts 2 tells of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit after Jesus ascended to heaven after His resurrection. This is known as the Early Rain. And here’s what happened during the Early Rain: when the believers received the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost, it was as if they all became evangelists at the same time. They shared what they knew about Christ with thousands of Jews from different countries that even spoke different languages than they did. Amazingly, they all heard the gospel of Christ in their own language! Why did the Lord allow for this outpouring of the Holy Spirit to occur then and there? So that a group of people would hear the gospel of Christ and be able to take it back to their own countries—most likely places the apostles wouldn’t be able to go to immediately or at all. That day 3,000 people were baptized!/p/ “The Bible promises that the Holy Spirit will pour down on God's people a second time—right before Jesus’ second coming. That’s when the Holy Spirit will help us fulfill the last part of the great commission—telling everyone about Jesus (see Matthew 28:19, 20!). Joel 2:23 talks about the Latter Rain: ‘Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain.’/p/ “Ellen White breaks this all down for us: ‘Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given. Miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and signs and wonders will follow the believers’ (Great Controversy, p. 612)./p/ “We need to have the desire to want to quicken the Lord’s return by reaching others for Christ. The Latter Rain is going to be like a turbo boost for us Christians that are working hard for The Lord. The Lord wants to work great miracles through our preaching and giving Bible studies. The Latter Rain will help us be bold for Christ!/p/ In order for us to receive The Latter Rain, we must ask the Lord in prayer to create in us the Fruit of the Spirit (see Galatians 5:22). We must ask the Lord to help us put differences aside and to help us to be united for Him. We must also ask for forgiveness not only for our sins, but also for the sins of those around us. And when the whole Christian body—the Church—is praying united in spirit, the Lord grant us the Latter Rain!”/p/ Come on, pray with us!/p/ Michelle

- Re: Operation Global Rain Part 2 from Bethany Painter, July 7, 2007

I think that Global rain should be seen in two ways, Global Rain and Global Reign, I think we also need to pray for an outpouring of Jesus Christ as our King, we should be praying that all over the world people everywhere will come together with Christ as our King.

I want to positively impact this world by standing up for Christ. And help others around the world by spreading the gospel.
