I met Becky at Little Creek Academy 22 years ago during her senior year and my freshman year. As soon as I met Becky, we were instant friends. Becky always wore a smile, had a great positive attitude, and still has a contagious laugh. At Little Creek Academy Becky was the most popular girl. The secret behind her success? I noticed how kind she was to everyone, and that everyone considered her a close friend. She didn’t date, but all the guys were crazy about her. I observed them laughing with her and teasing her and hanging out with her every chance they got. Her grades? Yep, straight A’s. And Becky was, and still is, sold out for God.

She’s now an osteopathic doctor, and her patients are crazy about her. The last time I asked her, she had like 5,000 patients! In fact, God sent an angel to tell her dad where to set up her practice. One day while she was seeing patients at the hospital, he and a realtor were out looking at property for a place to build her own clinic. Her dad and the realtor stopped by the side of the road to look at some property, but hadn’t gotten out of the car yet because it was pouring rain. Then a woman, under an umbrella, knocked on the driver’s side window. Becky’s dad rolled down the window. The woman said as she pointed, “This is a perfect place to build a medical clinic for this area.” Then she disappeared! No wonder Becky’s practice is thriving—God sent the message that it would!

 Becky and I keep in touch by e-mail. A week ago I opened her latest e-mail and found a video. Crunched for time, I almost didn’t watch it, but I’m glad I did. It’s definitely an IMAX movie experience as a hiker videos his trek up a mountain, along a very narrow path! You’ve gotta see it, in some places it’ll take your breath away as the path is actually worn out, and the hiker, at thousands of feet above sea level, keeps climbing. I guarantee that only a few very brave people will ever hike this trail: 

After watching the video and freaking out in some spots, it made me think of Matthew 7:14, which says: “The gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it” (NLT).* While I won’t ever be making a hike like the one in the video—I’m too much of a scaredy cat—I don’t want to miss out on heaven, and you don’t either!
