Living Water

Vicki
July 21, 2005

On my way home from work the other night I heard the radio announcer say that it’s been so hot in areas of the Southwest this week that people could lose up to a gallon—a GALLON!—of moisture an hour (an HOUR!!) if they didn’t take steps to stay cool and hydrated. Imagine what that means for people who work outside for 8-10 hours a day! At last count, the death toll from heat-related complications has reached the double digits. So, obviously, staying hydrated is really important.

That amazed me—and got me thinking about my spiritual life. When I’m “feeling the heat” in my life, it seems like I let the Living Water evaporate—quickly. I get scared, angry, anxious, whatever, and only complicate things, making them worse. What I need to do instead is to keep myself “hydrated” spiritually, by immersing myself in the Word, drinking in more time with Jesus, and filling myself up with His promises.

What do you do when you feel the heat?

Ma'am i feel you 101% When i feel the heat, the best thign to do is to get the living water. Study ur Bible, its the only thirst quencher.
