Experts have said for 60 years that the Ivory-billed Woodpecker, North America's largest woodpecker, is extinct. Gone. Nada. Disappeared. None left. Not even one.

Last year when a kayaker said he'd spotted one along Arkansas' White River, most people in the scientific community blew him off. There had been many false alarms in the last 60 years. But a few set to searching. They thought, just maybe, the "experts" might be wrong.

Sure enough--after much searching, they even got one on video. The bird that was extinct, come to find out, wasn't. The experts were wrong, and conservationists were thrilled.

So what in the world does this have to do with you, right?

At first glance, our society is permeated with corruption and immorality. Principled people seem to be extinct. The "experts" say anything goes, do what feels good, live for the day, it doesn't really matter, teens will do whatever they want anyway, blah, blah, blah. But just because the "experts" say it, doesn't necessarily mean it's true. Even though many people think that integrity and principle are extinct, I've had enough 'sightings' of principled teens to know that's just not true. Endangered, maybe, but not extinct. What about you?
