So I'm in a relationship with a guy who was my close friend for awhile. I never thought that we would end up going out, but over time our feelings grew and when he asked me out I said yes. Our relationship is great and I'm happy, but my parents don't know about us and I'm sure I should listen to them and wait until college to date. I don't want to break up with him and potentially mess up a relationship, but I'm compelled to obey my parents wishes (which I didn't do in the first place)... What should I do??

ID vs. Evolution
Posted by Axel on Nov 18 2009 9:43PM
I have a question that may seem heretical and preposterous, but it has been bothering me for several months now. I have been researching the intelligent design vs. evolution debate for a 20-25 page paper I am working on for my English class, and this question suddenly sprang up during my research. How do we, as Christians and as special creationists, explain the fact that life forms, such as the kangaroo and the koala, on the continent-island of Australia are so unique to that one area of the world? The fact that koalas and kangaroos are only found on the continent of Australia, New Guinea, and the small surrounding area seems to contradict the theory of creation and support the mainstream theory of evolution. Because kangaroos and koalas are endemic to that particular area of the planet, this can be taken to support the popular belief that it is plausible that life may have evolved on Australia differently from the rest of the globe. Also, it is generally accepted that the continents

The flood disrupted a lot of things. It has also caused a lot of minerals and natural resources to be distributed unevenly throughout the continents. The continents were formerly one land mass, after the flood this split the land mass, so now we have smaller land masses called continents. Different animals ended up in different continents after the flood water receded.

have you ever wondered why some parts of the world there are precious minerals like gold and other countries don't have.imagine every continent, has kangaroos what would have been the importance of your research? that should tell you that God created everything for a purpose and not evolultion as people(sceintist)wanted us to believe.

As far as your Pangea Question goes, I really don't know. He could have created the continents separate, or he may have not. I personally think the continents were separated during the deluge. But that's just my opinion.

Well it's quite simple really. See Satan bases his lies on truth. While we all didn't evolve, it is true that species do change over time. Adaption happens, we can't deny it's true. But to say that we all evolved from one single cell organism is outrages. So yes, animals can be different if they grow on different parts of the globe. Hope that helps.

Well, I have always believed in the Bible and creation. That question has many varibles to consider. One that I take to heart is that God can do all things. So if he chose to make it so that Kangaroos and Koalas were part of a certain climate then evolustion has nothing to do with it because that is how God made it. They can prove certain things by testing and research but we can also prove many things through the Bible. If the planet was in fact a super continent then the flood makes more sense because water came from heavan and below the earth. It could have caused the seperation of the super continent. Then again it also makes a lot of sense that the continents would be seperated by God so he could give certain animals the right environment. I guess we won't truly know until we get to heaven.

That's something you should ask God. The only answer is what he knows. For me, I won't take a side, I don't know the answer so I would ask God. And if he wants to tell me then I shall know.

Simple, our life is of FAITH.

FAITH!!! Personally, these questions exhaust me. We as human beings who believe in God, should accept the fact that we will never know everything until we reach Heaven and ask the Creator himself. For your paper, research as much as you can, but you may not find the answer. Just remember. Even Darwin believed in a higher power once he delved into studying the eye.

The fact that a certain species is known to exist in only one part of the world is not compelling evidence to overturn other scientific bases for recent creation (like the lack of significant erosion in sedimentary layers). There are other species which do not exist in any part of the world, but did exist at some point previously. The cause for this is not evolution, but rather the trend toward extinction - either due to predation, disease, or cataclysm such as the worldwide flood. It may be that certain species were able to survive in Australia, but were killed off by predators or disease in less favorable environments in other parts of the world. Or were not able to survive in harsh environments following the flood. Longer evolutionary timeframes would make migration more likely to occur at some point (not less likely) than shorter creationist timeframes. So the fact that kangaroos and koalas are endemic to that particular area of the planet actually supports creation.

Sorry about this, this is not a response. Appparently, I typed too much data into the box, so I will complete my question here: It is generally accepted that the continents were once connected in a super land continent called Pangaea, but is it possible that these continents were already separated when God created the world? It could be possible that God endowed this particular area of the world with the proper climate and environmental conditions to support these life forms. What are your thoughts? I'm confused.
