Feeling Far Away...

Posted by Shin on Feb 27 2010 12:57PM

Sometimes God just feels like He's a galaxy away from me. I guess my past sins just keep haunting me. I can't seem to forget them. And just when I think it is under control and I won't do it again, BOOM! there it goes again. I mess up. It's like the Devil telling me: "You thought you could get away? You can't!" And sometimes I feel that way. That I have sunken so low, so far from God's grace that I can't get back. I know that it isn't true, that God meets you where ever you are, but I sometimes wonder if He really hears me because I'm not baptized. Does baptism - the submersion into the water - make a difference? I know Jesus says that you must be born again by the spirit but does it mean that my life will get better after I take a "swim" in a pool that is "holy"?

I'm feeling exactly the same way. Whenever I feel like this, I listen to 'Hosanna' by the Soweto Gospel Choir on ilike. It is truly beautiful, and it always puts a smile on my face, even with such simple words. God bless, and I'll pray for you.

I am in the same situation and I believe you need to hold on and have faith that God will deliver you. If you haven't gotten that baptism then you need to to bury the old man of sin, and even though you fall you have an advocate which Christ himself

I know exactly how you feel especially with turning back to past sins.Ive struggled with that for years.its as if its taken its grip on you and refuses to let go.But if you give your situation to God and truly ask Him to remove that sin from your life He will. It may not happen as soon as youd like it to because God's concept of time is different than ours. And if you asked God to take sin out of your life, why would He refuse to? Also, you dont have to be baptized for God to hear you because He hears every prayer. Baptism is a representation of the choice you have made in your heart. It symbolizes your belief in Jesus, your decision to follow Him, and your willingness to let go of your past sins. Rom 6:4 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Hope this helped.

I know exactly how you feel.I have been just as low as you or even lower and I thought that I could never be forgiven by Jesus. Then I realised that it was the devil playing with my mind. You see,we were never deserving of God's grace and we will never be but he is so great that he loves us more than we can imagine.I know its hard to comprehend but we MUST remember that God's nature is not human nature he is the perfect demonstrator of forgiveness and he loves you too much to give up on you.Just clear your thoughts and focus on him ,ask him to fill you up again and make you feel like his child again. He dosent excpect us not to sin and not to repeat our sins he just wants us to try our best not to sin and not to do it intentionally.God Bless you .Ill be praying for you.
