Make Sabbath Interesting? Shin 6/4/2010
Okay, I know Sabbath is supposed to be a time where we commune with God and get in touch with Him, but sometimes I find Sabbath a bit on the dull and repetitive side, and even try to hurry it up by sleeping through it. But I don't want that anymore. How can I 'spice up' my Sabbath so I can have a good time with the Savior who died for me?

I think every Adventist has this problem. It can be kind of tricky, but try to think of Sabbath as a sign between you and God. Just as you would spend time with a relative that you love dearly, Sabbath is a time where you commune with Christ. That could be anything from studying the bible, praying, being in nature or going for nature walks, whatever makes you feel as though you are spending time with God.

Feeling Far Away... Shin 2/27/2010
Sometimes God just feels like He's a galaxy away from me. I guess my past sins just keep haunting me. I can't seem to forget them. And just when I think it is under control and I won't do it again, BOOM! there it goes again. I mess up. It's like the Devil telling me: "You thought you could get away? You can't!" And sometimes I feel that way. That I have sunken so low, so far from God's grace that I can't get back. I know that it isn't true, that God meets you where ever you are, but I sometimes wonder if He really hears me because I'm not baptized. Does baptism - the submersion into the water - make a difference? I know Jesus says that you must be born again by the spirit but does it mean that my life will get better after I take a "swim" in a pool that is "holy"?

I'm feeling exactly the same way. Whenever I feel like this, I listen to 'Hosanna' by the Soweto Gospel Choir on ilike. It is truly beautiful, and it always puts a smile on my face, even with such simple words. God bless, and I'll pray for you.

Live for Jesus (Nov 21) Staff 11/16/2009
When you hear people tell you to “live for Jesus,” what does that mean to you?

It makes me think of 2 verses: "For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." -Philippians 1:21 "I am crucified in Christ. Therefore it's no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live I live in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." -Galatians 2:20

Forgiveness (Sept 19) Staff 9/14/2009
When have you experienced God’s forgiveness?
2 Responses View All/Respond
I experience God's forgiveness when I make a mistake. He always forgives me no matter how many times I mess up, and I sure do mess up a lot! :) But what an awesome God we serve, a God that never gets tired of our mistakes, never gets impatient with us, and loves us more than we can ever imagine. We really serve an good God. :)
