So I'm in a relationship with a guy who was my close friend for awhile. I never thought that we would end up going out, but over time our feelings grew and when he asked me out I said yes. Our relationship is great and I'm happy, but my parents don't know about us and I'm sure I should listen to them and wait until college to date. I don't want to break up with him and potentially mess up a relationship, but I'm compelled to obey my parents wishes (which I didn't do in the first place)... What should I do??

Hi, I know you feel really trapped right now, and it seems like things are really bad, but I don't want you to give up. I really do understand how you feel. The details of my life are a little different, but my relationship with God is pretty messed up right now, and it makes me want to give up. I know what it feels like to not have people to talk to who will hear where you're coming from. When I'm tempted to call it quits on life and God, i look at my past to see how God has worked to help me. Remembering how God helped you overcome stuff in the past will give you hope for the future. The second thing you should do is go to God directly. Tell God how you feel. Jesus told his disciples, "All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away" (John 6:37). he also said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matt. 11:28-29). How do you do that? Tell God exactly what you just wrote here. Give your challenges over to Him, and ask Him to help you feel better. When I feel overwhelmed by life, I know that God is calling me to come closer to Him, to trust Him with all of my life. That's how I cope with my life. Give him your family issues, financial problems, everything. If you have no one to talk to, keep writing here. We're here for you. (I just prayed for you.) My Dear Friend,
We all feel like giving up at times. When I could not take anymore I gave it to God. You see satan wants us to give up and feel like God is not there for us. But we have to give it all to God he gave his son to die on the cross for you and me. Get down on those knees and tell God you don't know who he is but please reveal himself to you. We at times are to busy to hear his voice. We need to be still, quiet out in nature. I look for the small things. Pray and open the bible which so many of us do not do. Pray for the wisdom and knowledge and claim that promise. The more we read the better we understand who God is. Dont give up you can write to me and I will try to help you. You are not alone, talk to someone and you will see that they have problems if they are an honest person. God loves you and you are special. Don't give up. Read the book of Job and his life wow. That gives me strength. Please open up to someone and you will see that life is not that bad. I have stories for you, and you are young. 1Corinthians 10:13 read that also and claim that promise. I have problems but I try to put it in Gods hands. Sometimes its not easy, but once you realize these small things your eyes will be open. Stay strong and tell satan to leave you alone in the name of Jesus Christ. Please let me know what happens. Your friend in Jesus Christ. (** Posted Nov 19 2009 10:48PM **)

Hey there. You're not alone. What ever you do, don't give up on God. He has a plan for you. You situation reminds me of a play that I did recently with my drama group. It was called "The Gift of God's Silence." You might be thinking, "How can God's silence be a gift?" That's exactly what I thought, and this play turned out to be a blessing for me. The main character was experiencing God's silence, and they were taken through the Bible to see examples of His silence. Mary and Martha were experiencing His silence when Lazarus was sick and Jesus didn't come until he was dead. In the end, they got to see the power that Jesus could do when He rose Lazarus from the dead. Abraham and Sarah felt like God's promise for a son was taking too long, so Hagar had a child for Abraham, but that brought on more problems. God still blessed Abraham and Sarah with their promised son, Issac. David experienced God's silence when he was on the rum from Saul and his army. David was scared for his life. He came to be one of the greatest kings of Israel. And my favorite example was Joseph. He was sold into slavery by his brothers, falsely accused of a crime he didn't commit, and was put in jail. He came to be second in command in Egypt and he saved the Hebrews from famine. It's a pattern. God's silence means that something great is going to (** Posted Nov 20 2009 3:52PM **)

Cling Closely to Jesus If we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as themorning. Hosea 6:3. When Satan tells you that your sins are such that you need not expect anygreat victories in God, tell him the Bible teaches that those who love mostare those who have been forgiven most. Do not try to lessen your guilt byexcusing sin. You cannot come near to God by faith unless you realize yoursinfulness. Then you can place yourselves right on the promises, and withunwavering faith can claim a share in the infinite sacrifice that has beenmade for the human race. Cling closely to Jesus, and His great heart of lovewill draw you unto Himself. I cannot bear the thought that any should go away . . . without having theirfaith greatly strengthened. . . . Every advance step they take must be astep of faith. If they have a religious experience that is rich in faith, one can chase a thousand, and two can put ten thousand to flight. But allthe talents that they may possess, all the skill and eloquence that they mayacquire, will effect nothing unless they are consecrated to God. . . . The apostle Paul desired that his brethren should be comforted with "theconsolation wherewith he was comforted." The Christian finds constantcomfort and strength in Jesus. . . . Let us have an eye single to the glory of God. Let us not allow anything tointerpose between us and Him. "I (** Posted Nov 21 2009 5:37PM **)

I'm so sorry that you feel that way, it sounds like the devil is really trying to get you down. I know you may feel discouraged, but God has always brought me out of my tough times, and He will do the same for you if you let Him. I used to feel that something was missing in my heart - and my Heavenly Father has filled that place. I've felt unworthy, worthless, and incapable. But it was Satan, trying to get me into discouragement, to feel that my life wasn't worth living. Remember, it isn't because of God that your life is a nightmare. It's because the devil wants to discourage you, to ruin your life. God has a wonderful plan for you, even though you may not think so, and know that I am praying for you. It sounds like there is a lot going on in your life. I can understand, I have been there, I know how it feels to feel alone. But you are not alone, God is right there with you. He is standing, sitting, walking with you every step of your way. As you go throught these rough times, he is whispering "I am with you"..Dont give up on God, cause He will never give up on you. Every time you cry, He will hold you up because He Loves You! No matter where you are, God is who He is. Every tear that you have cried, He holds in His hand, He will never leave your side. I may not know all of your problems, but I do know that He will never leave you and He will never allow you to go through something that you will not be able to handle. Take a closer look at Job 1:6-22 and also if you like music, google, Casting Crowns "Praise you in the Storm" video or song and listen very closely to the lyrics. I hope through out your pain you are able to see that you are not alone and God truely Loves You!
Gob Bless! (** Posted Nov 23 2009 12:42PM **)

I feel for you. I don't know if I'm the best person to take advice on life in general, but somewhere in the Bible it say's God is a Faithful God. And I really like that. God's right next to you even when you feel like giving up on EVERYTHING. He's there just waiting to help you. Have you tried reading your Bible? that always helps me. I'll be praying for you. sounds like you're having a hard time, but God can help you if you'll just let him. I hope your life will improve. Happy Thanksgiving!
